Dos-and-Donts-of-Germany

I have been learning German ....why? because my daughters are being brought up bi-lingual, my husband is German and we spend we great deal of time in Germany.  Also .. I do not expect everyone to speck to me in English and I also do not wish to be left out feeling a plum over conversations.
The German culture fascinates me on many levels..mostly because it is so different from my Caribbean( Trinidad) culture.

For instance..Us trini folk are very warm and socially outgoing, we love to hugs and kiss everyone, I am from a very affectionate family and naturally tactile by nature. I know this scares people and they often get the wrong impression. So when meeting my husbands family and friends I greeted them the only way that felt natural to me, well needless to say..everyone was rose colored, quiet and exchanging shocked glances.{ oh yes my husband failed to tell me what the custom was..he thought it would be funny...he was the only one in the room laughing} do not worry I made him pay!!!

Keeping these prized finds on my blog  is a great way of keeping track of my progress and I can always pop by for a refresher. I thought it would be also nice to share it as it is so cool to learn something new about another culture. London is so diverse and I love living here mainly for it's multiculturalism.....hope you find the video interesting..and if you ever visit Germany please take note!      Chelsea

Da ich selber Probleme habe mich an Regeln zu halten habe ich gelernt was ich all die Jahre in Deutschland falsch hemacht habe.

Now for the foreigners:
As i can't stick to rules myself I was happy to be told from the video what I did wrong all my life in Germany.
