Our New addition- Brio Dauchshund-Review

Brio Dachshund Pull Along Wooden Baby Toy 

As a new member of BritMums -Working With Brands Group I was pleased to be given the wonderful opportunity to review for Hello Baby, It is an on-line nursery shop based in the United Kingdom. 

This beautiful toy was sent to us to be reviewed and I am happy to say that I was not disappointed.He is adorable, sleek, durable and high quality. As a mother of 2 daughters I am passionate about them having a wide range of quality toys to play with. Armelle {6} and Erin{2} can be described as Princess Tomboys. Their playthings range from dinosaurs to fairy wings and dolls to train sets.

This Brio Dachshund was great for Erin because at this stage of her development she enjoys imaginative play. She was so excited when the dog arrived and played with him all morning, she placed a small bowl of water for him and a bowl of dry cereal. She also (much to my surprise) cordoned off an area for him. As she was so happily occupied.... I thought I would steal a moment with the newspaper when...she brought a box and asked me to make a house for the puppy to sleep in.I have since done so with the very box he was delivered in(I heart up-cycling)!This little dog has really brought out her nurturing side as well...she is now sleeping with him

Things I love about the Brio Dachshund;

4.Portable (it can fit into my medium hand bag-very important)

5.Indoor/outdoor use

6. No assembly needed

7.Encourages imaginative play(2 and a half to 3 years)

8. A great starting point for discussion with toddler about pets/food/ animals/ nature/colours/textures and shapes.

9 Built to last, so makes a great gift/ keepsake to pass on to generations. (we have Brio toys from my husband's childhood in Germany and our girls are still  able to play with them today and they are in top condition & I will keep for their children- should they wish to have).

 

Drawbacks;

The only real drawbacks I have found with this high quality product is:

1.The string which is used to pull the toy. It would have been wonderful to have a better quality string, with more length and perhaps a handle at the end for better grip.

(however if you are crafty, creative or handy you can just add to the length with a better quality string/ or ribbon and attach/tie keyring to the end- done!)

I would certainly recommend this product.It is a very high quality, beautifully made wooden toy that could last for generations and also makes a wonderful and thoughtful gift or present.

The Brio Dachshund moves his head, wags his tail and flaps his ears when your child takes him for a walk. They will have no problem to get the dachshund to obey…since it is made of wood!
