Pondering in Germany
I am visiting my german family at the moment and hoping to improve my german but to no avail on day 3! But really...I was thinking about the first time I came to this house ( my husbands mother and her second husband (great choice by the way Annette!!)father. It was here we told the news we were expecting our first child. I was 30 then and remember the midwife refering to me as an ölder mother .
Well .......you can only imagine the shock.........Me !!! older mother!!! how very dare you ..how very dare you indeed!
I found it so appaüling..because I was so fit and healthy at the time and looked and felt ( if I may say 10 years my junior) so young..........the lable threw me for 6! especially when I look around the playground I frequent and see women in their mid 40's heavily pregnant and proud!!! Good for them but I AM NOT AN OLDER MUM!!!
